The girls basketball team (12-2) secured a 48-21 win against Emerson (8-6) Tuesday, finalizing their second place finish in District 11-5A and ending district play on a high note.
“Really we were just polishing up things that we might use in the playoffs so it was a good little practice game going into the playoffs,” assistant coach Jayci Morton said.
For senior Kathryn Murphy, the game against Emerson reminded the team to be ready to face unexpected challenges.
“Due to a personnel change on the Emerson team, we had to change up our game plan a little bit, but we were able to work around that and work on some areas like being able to execute well and not having exactly what we thought we were going to have,” Murphy said. “We didn’t do as good of a job of scrambling and being in our main principles, but we’re working on it moving into the playoffs.”
