I don’t think it’s too troublesome being single on Valentine’s Day.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with being in a relationship on Valentine’s Day. But there’s nothing wrong with being single on that day too.
Why should we be so focused on finding romantic love on Valentine’s anyway?
Yes, Valentine’s Day is about love. But there’s other kinds of love: family, friends, and even self love is important as well. Don’t be sad if you don’t have a partner; just remember that there’s other people who are looking out for you and supporting you.
You can also think about the other fun factors on Valentine’s. The colors, the chocolate and candy, the cute and corny cards, etc. I know I’m ready to scavenge out lots of boxes of those iconic candy hearts.
Also think about what extracurricular activities or outside programs you are involved in. Maybe they have some sort of Valentine’s dinner or small party coming up? Or even go out with friends to a nice restaurant! (Just make sure you reserve a table beforehand because restaurants will be very packed!)
Don’t be discouraged for not having a partner on Valentine’s. There will always be next year, and the most important thing is loving yourself and supporting those around you.
