Candidates announced for Frisco ISD Board of Trustees

Three spots on the Frisco ISD Board of. Trustees are on the May 3 ballot with eight candidates filing for to be considered for election with early voting taking place April 22-29.

The deadline for candidates to file their intent to run for a place on the Frisco ISD Board of Trustees was on Feb. 14 with eight candidates submitting their names for the May 3 election according to Community Impact.

Places 1, 2, and 3 are the openings on the May ballot. Currently holding those positions are Gopal Ponangi (Place 1), Marvin Lowe (Place 2) and Stephanie Elad (Place 3).

Each of the three places on the ballot are elected at-large to three-year terms with the candidate receiving the most votes declared the winner with no majority needed.

Early voting for the May 3 election is April 22-29 with April 3 the last day to register to vote for this election.

Students in AP World History class that's part of the GT Humanities program are visiting the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum on Friday. "It’s a fantastic museum first of all," Humanities teacher Elizabeth Evans said. "They have not only a really great display of Holocaust information and memorabilia, but also some big really nice hands-on displays of other genocides, and then also information about human rights and what some of the responses to this have been. So I do think that because they create this in such a memorable way, this is definitely something the kids will remember.”

Remi Williams is a senior and starting her fourth year in Wingspan. At school she is involved in Student Council, on the Girls soccer team, and is Historian for NHS. When she’s not at work she loves hanging out with her friends, working out, and trying new recipes.
