The softball team (2-2) did not get the results they were looking for in the Frisco ISD Tournament over the long weekend, with losses to Van Alstyne and Horn by scores of 7-3 and 14-1, respectively. They will look to bounce back as they take on Lake Dallas (1-0) on the road. That game was scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Tuesday but has been canceled due to cold weather, and a new date has not been announced.
“We obviously didn’t get the results that we were looking for, made some mistakes that we shouldn’t have, but it’s better to have those kinds of things now early in the season rather than later in districts,” head coach Tiffany Thayer said.
Senior Ainslee Palmer is hopeful the team can correct their mistakes.
“We started off both games really slow and weren’t able to recover quickly, which was a big factor in the results,” Palmer said. “We need to fix that or we’ll keep costing ourselves games.”
