The boys basketball team opens the the 2025 playoffs Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. when they face off against The Colony at Plano Senior High School, hoping to continue their three game winning streak.
“One of the biggest challenges is being prepared for the next team,” assistant coach Julio Enriquez said. “The first thing is always getting past the group, because it’s always a quick turnaround. Getting film for the next team and knowing what they do, how they defend this and that. And making sure everybody’s focused on the task at hand.”
Sophomore Ian Williams expects a tough game, facing nationally ranked player Dakari Spear.
“[The toughest of this matchup will be] probably just having to guard one of the state’s best players, [Dakari Spear],” Williams said. “He’s nationally ranked, so that would be a challenge, to stand in front of him and stop him from getting to his shot and hurting the team more.”
