As Frisco Flag Night approaches, Color guard is preparing their performance for the competition.
Color Guard Director Eric Mills enjoys this opportunity to admire the students’ hard work and dedication to their craft.
“My favorite part part about watching the students perform is really just seeing them be in the moment watching the audience clap,” Mills said. “[I] give them lots of positive energy when they achieve things they thought they could never really do. It’s always really really fun to get to see our new members experience that for the first time and our older members get a chance to show the newer members kinda how things go.”
For many people, the only chance to see Color guard perform is during halftime of football games. However, at the 14th annual Frisco Flag Night on Saturday night, teams from all 12 FISD high schools get to perform their Winter guard routines.
The event is an opportunity for Color guard members to perform for friends and family without the stress of competing. The night is open for the public to watch, with free admission. The event will be at Frisco High School from 5 to 8 p.m..
