The Redhawks baseball team (1-1) saw mixed results to start their season Saturday, dropping a game against Haltom (4-0) by a score of 5-4 before rallying to defeat Irving 9-2. Both games were played on the road at Haltom High School.
With those games now in their rearview mirror, the Redhawks now turn their attention to the Princeton Panthers (0-0), who they will host at The Nest Monday at 6 p.m.
“As a team, we’ve been preparing by putting in the work on both hitting and fielding,” senior Drew Miller said.
Head coach Scott McGarrh recognizes the amount of work it will take to make the team consistently successful.
“We need to grind,” McGarrh said. “Keep working, keep fine-tuning, keep improving. If we want to play a good game, we have to be consistent.”
