The Redhawk golf team participated in the Dragon Spring Cup at the Timarron Country Club Monday. The boys finished in 6th place in stroke play and 8th in match play in their division, while the girls took 8th and 7th in theirs.
“The course was really hard and we had to play from the men’s tee so it was a further yard inch,” junior Olivia Murphy said. “We had to hit the ball farther than we usually do.”
The team is looking to focus on specific techniques in preparation for the next few tournaments according to assistant coach Adam Davidson.
“Putting, for one, and then they need to develop some different types of shots with half and three-quarter swings,” Davidson said. “That’s what we’re going to work on today and then really just focused decisions, paying more attention to their targets and angles when they’re out there playing.”
