The Redhawks track team had their first official meet Saturday at the Trojan Relays.
“It was a good season opening for sure,” boys head coach Robert Thayer said. “But everyone has room to improve. Luckily the weather was nice and it not as cold as it has been recently.”
With the fields events for girls cancelled, there was smaller numbers than normal for the girls.
“They had a good run even though they had a small group participate due to some being in other sporting events,” girls head coach Khera Vay said. “[I] can’t wait to get out and compete next weekend.”
With one of the meets being cancelled the team had a delayed start to their season.
“Our first meet was a week later than normal so that was a little weird but it was nice to get an extra week to keep my legs fresh,” sophomore Mac Sedwick said. “It was a good meet and overall I had a pretty good race.”
“Overall I think the team did really well for the first meet,” sophomore Makena Wise said. “I think everyone tried new things and did their best.”.
