The Redhawks softball team (3-3) looks to push their record into the positive side of the ledger when they host Frisco (3-7-1) Wednesday at 6 p.m.
“I’m feeling really optimistic about our bats,” head coach Tiffany Thayer said. “The girls have been looking great, and I loved the energy we had at practice yesterday. Everyone worked hard and was mentally locked in, focused on getting better.”
With a few players banged up, sophomore Elizabeth Zuniga says resilience is key for the team.
“We have to give it our all even with the people we have out,” Zuniga said. “That’s the only way we’ll be able to pull off a win.”
Although Thayer likes how the team practiced, she’s trying to find the right balance with the girls that are injured.
“I do have some uncertainty when it comes to our injured players. It’s a tough call—do we let them play and risk further injury, or give them time to rest and accept that the outcome might be a little unpredictable?” Thayer said. “It’s all about finding the right balance to keep the team competitive while prioritizing their health.”
