The Texas Education Agency has authorized the state approval of Phase Two in its Teacher Incentive Allotment. As a result, over 700 Frisco ISD teachers will receive a stipend ranging from $3,200 to $12,700.
The TIA program is a result of House Bill 3, passed by the 86th Texas Legislature in June 2019, which held the goal of creating a six-figure salary for teachers who prioritize teaching in high-need and rural district campuses. Standards provided by the TEA identify which teachers qualify as top-performing, being categorized by three designation levels: Recognized, Exemplary and Master. The stipend amount varies based on the designation level.
“This expansion of our TIA program recognizes even more of Frisco ISD’s hard-working educators, putting cash in their pockets,” Waldrip said in a Frisco ISD news release. “We couldn’t be prouder of their dedication. This is just the beginning as we hope to recognize more of our outstanding teachers in the years to come.”
