The Heritage Coyotes swept Redhawks soccer Friday, with the boys losing 1-0 and the girls losing 6-0.
“It’s a tough one to take, but we did a lot of good stuff,” head girls soccer coach Kyle Beggs said. “Didn’t have a really good first half, but the way the team responded in the second half was very good, and showed a lot of fight.”
Having a slow first half start is another thing both groups shared this weekend according to junior Joey Mediaceja.
“Our main focus is to be strong in the first ten minutes because we usually get scored on in the first ten minutes, and that’s what happened,” Mediaceja said. “Then you know coming back from behind is always hard, but we just couldn’t find the back of the net.”
The score might not reflect other success on the field according to Mediaceja.
“What we did well was we had great pressure, and we kept the ball a lot of the game,” Mediaceja said. “But we just couldn’t score.”
