After opening district play with a 9-3 win over Frisco (0-1), the softball team (1-0) hits the road to take on the Lebanon Trail TrailBlazers (1-0) Tuesday at 6 p.m.
“Offensively, if we can bring the same energy and focus we had against Frisco, we’ll put ourselves in a great position,” head coach Tiffany Thayer said. “Our goal is to have smart, effective at-bats and capitalize on any defensive weaknesses we can find. Ultimately, the game will come down to our ability to stay mentally strong, play as a team, and trust in the work we’ve put in.”
Looking to move to 2-0 in district play, senior Ainslee Palmer has high expectations for the game.
“I’m excited, I think we’re going to play really well and all of our practices will pay off in this game,” Palmer said. “I think our strength in this game will definitely be offense and being able to get runs on the board early.”
