It wasn’t a full spring break for the baseball team as the Redhawks faced Lebanon Trail twice, sweeping the Blazers 9-8 and 5-3. The team looks to keep up the momentum by winning against Centennial on Tuesday.
“The challenges I faced during the beginning of the baseball season and the last game were staying positive to myself and just continuing to play through adversity and things like that,” sophomore Carson Higgs said.
“[For the upcoming game against Centennial] we’re working on hitting and communication, so outfield and infield, as well as relays,” freshman Joshua Fei said.
According to head coach Scott McGarrh, the team is continuing to put emphasis on skills that have helped them win games in the past to hopefully perform better in upcoming games.
“We really struggled with situational hitting, [so] we put a huge emphasis on that in practice and it really showed because last week we played much better and won two games on Lebanon Trail,” McGarrh said. “So going forward, we need to continue working on two-strike approach and being aggressive.”
