After months of writing essays, extracurricular commitments, and anticipation, seniors will finally receive their Ivy League admission decisions from Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, Penn, and Yale on Thursday, with results typically released around 7 p.m., depending on the school.
“I’m very nervous. It almost feels like everything I’ve done these past four years has led up to this point, and it’s either going to pay off heavily or all feel insignificant,” senior Shaunik Sharma said. “But this process has also taught me how to deal with high-stakes situations like job or internship applications in the future,” Sharma said.
Some people say comparison is the thief of joy, and for senior Ashvita Suresh Kumar, her college admissions journey has been a reminder of that lesson.
“This process has taught me not to compare myself to others because everyone’s path is different,” Kumar said. “If I could go back, I’d tell myself to start my essays earlier, but at the end of the day, things work out the way they’re meant to.”
