I would say I am a pretty independent person when it comes to my health. I know when to take my medicine and I am aware of times when I should probably slow down and take a breather.
However, I can’t always catch myself when my eye is crossing or when I really am putting too much stress on my body. My mom is a huge help in my life in these aspects. She is always there for me to lend that helping hand. Especially when I am sick. That, as I have said in previous articles, is when I really am helpless.
Moving away from home will be a big step. I am starting to realize that even though I am pretty aware, I need to not push myself when it comes to my health. I also have to start planning for worse-case events in college. I need to start building up plans and lists of medicines I can’t use that can be accessible to new faces in college.
There is still a lot I need to do to prepare as I will be all alone.
Next week I will touch on roommates for college next year. I can’t wait to continue to share my story with you! Remember our struggles don’t define us.
