Wingspan: When and why did you start playing baseball?
Pierce: “I started playing baseball when I was three and baseball is big in my family, so I started early.”
Wingspan: Who is your biggest inspiration?
Pierce: “My biggest inspiration was always Mike Trout. He just was the best player and I wanted to be that.”
Wingspan: Who is your biggest supporter?
Pierce: “My biggest supporter is my brother. He always wants the best for me in baseball.”
Wingspan: What is it like having your sibling on the team?
Pierce: “Having a sibling on your team just feels like a guy who you can always talk to a just have a lot of connection with because we have been playing together forever.”
Wingspan: What are your goals for this season?
“Goals this season are to make playoffs and impact the younger guys on the team and be someone they remember.”
Wingspan: What is most challenging about baseball?
“The most challenging thing about baseball is that you always have to make adjustments no matter if it’s on the offensive side or the defensive side.”
Wingspan: Are you planning to continue your baseball career after high school? Why or why not?
Pierce: “I am not playing baseball after high school. It’s just time that I start the next chapter of my life and even though I will miss the sport I have to start my career and building my future self.”
