With a 7-0 road win over Centennial (1-9) Friday, the softball team (8-2) achieved a series sweep of the ‘Rivalry on Rolater’.
“Whether it’s putting the ball in play, making the routine plays on defense, or simply playing smart softball, the little things make all the difference,” head coach Tiffany Thayer said. “Keeping it simple has been key for us, and it’s really working. No one feels like they have to carry the team alone, and that’s helped us stay confident and connected. Of course, there have been moments where we’ve overcomplicated things and felt a little out of sync, but we’ve worked through that. Most importantly, we’ve talked a lot about making this season fun and not letting pressure take away from why we play—to enjoy the game and the moment.”
Sophomore Elizabeth Zuniga hopes the team can keep their success going.
“Our bats were really working, and both pitchers did a great job keeping things under control on the mound,” Zuniga said. “It was an all-around great team effort, and we’re looking to keep that momentum going.”
