Tennis moved to 3-0 in district play after dispatching Centennial 16-3 Wednesday to continue its winning streak. After making it to the regional tournament last year, the team is even more determined to get there again.

“After districts, we have a good chance that we’ll make it to area, and from area to regionals. The top four teams go to area, and the top two teams go from are to regionals,” head tennis coach Erica Dopson said. “We have a good chance of getting to regionals again, we just have to keep working hard.”

After defeating both Reedy and Lone Star in district play prior to Wednesday’s match, Dopson feels the team is in better shape this year.

“The kids are doing pretty well,” Dopson said. “They’re managing the heat pretty well, last year we had quite few kids that cramped up, but this year, we are trying to make sure that doesn’t happen as much, hopefully getting in a little better shape.”
