I LOVE reading.
Reading honestly feels so therapeutic. You get a tiny little escape from reality and enter the world of the story that you’re reading.
It’s so much fun to imagine the characters in your head doing the things that the text says they’re doing (unless it’s…weird or gory but you get my point) and imagine what they look like. Of course there will be some moments where you accidentally imagine a character with the wrong hair color but that’s just a small funny moment.
Although it is fun for many, others may have opposing viewpoints when it comes to reading.
Some opinions I’ve heard include that it’s too quiet and boring. Some people just prefer louder environments and more physical than mental activity. Boring can be controversial because it isn’t boring for those who have a big imagination. If you have a big imagination then it can help you dive deeper into the story.
Books, unfortunately, also require commitment. If you want to finish the story, you gotta finish the whole book when you can. This goes for some books that are incredibly big, which can feel tedious even when you like where the story is going so far.
It feels annoying at first, but if you commit to reading the book and take some time in your day to have quiet reading, you’ll get many benefits! This includes less time looking at screens and improving mental health.
Reading may not be for everyone, but engaging in a story on paper can feel healing and fun. It would highly recommend it as a hobby. The greatest part is that you can take your book anywhere and read wherever you feel comfortable. It helps zone you into the book.
