Prom is Saturday night from 8 p.m. – 12 a.m. at the W Hotel and at least 355 students have tickets for the once a year in event.

“Throughout high school, you’ll have multiple homecomings and only one prom,” senior Ashlyn Craig said. “It’ll be so much different and better than the others, so it’s special for everyone.”

For some students, the night may have extra significance as they have been nominated for prom queen and king.

“I’m honestly quite surprised and I was pretty sure I was nominated by like two people,” prom king nomination Weston Sandland said. “It’s a once in a lifetime event, so I would be incredibly honored.”

Whether they’re nominated or not, seniors that are attending prom are looking forward to a night spent with friends.

“It’s my last chance to be together with all my friends, and get pictures with them,” senior Caroline Chandler said. “We just get to celebrate us making it this far before we all split for college.”
