The Dallas Cowboys new headquarters and indoor facility where next year the varsity football team will play several of its district games has been officially named The Ford Center at The Star after the auto manufacturer secured naming rights for the venue.

As part of the partnership between the city and the Cowboys, three percent, or up to $500,000 a year in naming rights fees will go to Frisco.

“It’s more than putting a name on a building,” Muso said to the Dallas Morning News. “The culture of Ford is to get involved in the community and give back to the community, and we’re excited about that.”

Deputy superintendent for business services for Frisco ISD, Richard Wilkinson believes the pairing of Ford and Dallas’s team in the naming deal will provide opportunities for students.

“This time next year, we will be cheering on our students as they perform and compete in this world-class facility,” Wilkinson said in news release issued by FISD. “As this announcement brings another member to the table, we know it only enhances the many opportunities and successes our students will enjoy through this ongoing relationship.”
