Wingspan: How long have you been playing football and what got you started?
Burtch: “I’ve been playing football since second grade. My dad really got me started because he’s a football coach.”
Wingspan: What is your mood on game days?
Burtch: “Most of the time on game days I really don’t like to talk to anybody and really focus on the game and see my job in my head.”
Wingspan: What position do you play?
Burtch: “I play defensive end.”
Wingspan: What is the most challenging part about playing at the varsity level?
Burtch: “Playing at the varsity level in Frisco is really hard, because there’s a lot of good athletes.”
Wingspan: How do you stay motivated during a game?
Burtch: “During games I just try to stay motivated by motivating the rest of my team and motivating myself by trying to do my job.”
Wingspan: Do you have any team and individual goals for this season?
Burtch: “This season I want to try and make it to playoffs as a team. Individually I want to be either first or second team all district in my position.”
Wingspan: What is your favorite thing about football?
Burtch: “My favorite thing about football is the brotherhood that you make with the rest of the guys, getting to know them better, and getting to play the game that I love.”
