An electrocardiogram is a screening of the heart and cardiac muscle aimed at detecting issues that might not be caught in standard physicals. In an attempt to reduce cases of cardiac distress in Frisco athletics, Frisco ISD is offering cardiac screenings on all high school campuses. For assistant wrestling coach Tim Brennan, it’s a personal issue.

If you want to lead a long and healthy life you need a healthy heart,” Brennan said. “I had two friends who did not have a healthy heart and one died in his 40s and one died in his 50s, so a healthy heart will keep you healthy your whole life. The stronger your heart, the better you are to fight off future illness; the stronger your heart the more you are going to save off future problems.”

Screenings will be offered on campus tomorrow from 2:30-5:30 p.m. and will be available to all FISD student grades 8-12 for $20.
