Not your average rabbit

George is a 2 year old flemish giant that tips the scales at 17 pounds.

But George isn’t just a big rabbit, he’s a Future Farmers of America award winning rabbit that lives at the house of junior Brogan Gunia.

“I keep him in my game room upstairs and he basically has taken over the whole room,” Gunia said. “Last year at the Collin County Junior Livestock Show he got first place in his classification so that mean his age group and his gender and so male, intermediate is what he won and this year he won that category as well as best in breed.”

As big as George is, his diet is rather limited with his size coming from his genetics not what he eats.  And just like many household pets, George likes to be pet.

“He has a cup of pellets and then he’ll have some greens so spinach and different chard and cilantro and stuff like that and then also hay but he doesn’t really eat as much as he’s supposed to,” Gunia said. “He’s really sweet, he’s really easy going not very hyped, he’ll run around for a couple minutes and then he’ll be done and lay down next to you and then you can just pet him.”
