Theatre goes into The Graveyard
October 28, 2015
In honor of Halloween this weekend, the theatre department is holding its first Halloween show, The Graveyard, Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The show will consist of several monologues, all produced and written by students.
“It’s been a writing process for about six weeks,” theater director Stephanie Winters said. “We had the students write monologues from the perspective of beyond the grave; all the characters are dead.”
Each monologue will portray an individual story crafted by the mind of an advanced theater student. The show will consist of one unique story after another.
“They got to research and write their own pieces which is just interesting in itself and different for them,” Winters said.
The production will be held in the auditorium. Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults. Attendees can get $1 off ticket prices by bringing in a canned food item to donate.
“We’re thinking about doing it every year and using a different perspective,” Winters said. “Everyone is collaborating and researching, they’re just sort of pulling the best out of each other as they work.”
