Studying for their DECA District CDC test, seniors Grishma Geedipally, Maahi Patel and Rishika Macha look over their notes. The test being administered is used to determine whether or not competitors advance to the state competition.

DECA club members are taking their district tests today after school in room C208 with their results helping determine if they advance to the state competition February 21-23 in Dallas.

Officer Saahithi Joopelli believes that the competitors are prepared as they were given access to many studying tools.

“We told them more about how the test would work,” Joopelli said. “Then we gave them some practice tests and showed them where they could find their own.”

DECA adviser Patricia Flores thinks the test scores will be a reflection of the hard work the members put into studying.

“The officers have worked hard helping all the members of the DECA association here at Liberty,” Flores said. “They provided training over break so I have great hopes for them because they have been preparing and they are very excited to be going to competition. So it is definitely going to be a result of their hard work.”

Even though members have been preparing for weeks, the 100 question test can throw some curveballs.

“There’s a lot of topics and vocabulary so it’s overwhelming,” senior Grishma Geedipally said. “You never know what they’re going to ask so it’s unpredictable.
