Looking to ignite a winning streak, the Redhawk soccer program takes on Lebanon Trail on Friday, with the girls’ beginning at 7:00 p.m. at home and the boys’ to start at 7:30 p.m.

“I think the win against Heritage gives us momentum [and] will help the girls to remember what they are capable of,” girls head soccer coach Elizabeth Mokler said via email. “I am hopeful that it will give them confidence and produce more successes.”

With the boys’ team determined to earn their first District 9-5A win, head coach Fred Kaiser has been working on fine-tuning areas of improvement.

“We’ve worked on back side defending because it was something that we have been struggling with all season,” Kaiser said. “We seem to have a hold on that and now we need to make sure we are doing everything we need to be doing, instead of just focusing on one or two aspects of the game.”

Remaining constructively optimistic, Mokler reminds the girls that keeping the right mindset is an effective way to ensure a win.

“We are preparing the girls by being positive, hopeful, [and] encouraging,” Mokler said. “[We are] reminding them that focus and commitment to the fundamentals of high work rate and attitude have a huge impact on the outcome.”
