Swinging up a slew of success, the Redhawk tennis team took on various schools outside of the district at a tournament hosted by the Princeton Panthers and the Anna Coyotes on Friday at Anna High School.

“The team played great; we won all but [girls’ singles],” head coach Erica Dopson said. “I am hoping this tournament helped everyone’s confidence. We need to learn how to be mentally tough and fight to win.”

Earning first place in girls’ doubles, junior Mehak Kaul believes teamwork allowed her and her partner, sophomore Bonnie Wu to come out on top.

“Our team did really well in this tournament,” junior Mehak Kaul said. “My partner and I excelled in working together and I believe we can excel in not being as nervous during the matches. This [tournament] shows us our strengths and weaknesses during the games and shows us where we can improve.”
