Much like the regular season, defense dominated in the opening round of the playoffs Monday night as the girls’ basketball team dominated McKinney North 40-12.

“I think our first win really sets the tone not only for us but for other teams we play to show them that we mean business,” senior Jamille Johnson said. “I’m expecting us to play good teams and in big games that we’ve all been waiting for. We’re all really expecting to win it all this year, we’re going after it.”

The team held the Bulldogs to just three points in the first half and one point in the fourth quarter.

“We always say, ‘make em cry’,” sophomore Jazzy Owens said. “The whole basketball program lives by that quote and It makes the energy in our games always high. We’ve prepared for playoffs and are ready to go far.”
