13 DECA students advanced to the international conference in April after advancing out of the Texas State Career Development Conference that took place in Dallas Thursday-Saturday.

“I think it provides an opportunity for us to show what we learned throughout the year and to have fun and spend time together as a chapter,” senior, DECA Vice President, Saahithi Joopelli said.

Students who advanced get the opportunity to compete against students from around the world.

“After years of hard work, it’s great to get recognized in my senior year,” senior Nikhil Yerva said. “It’s a way to end with the bang and you know, just really thankful for the experience and this opportunity to prove myself. The thing I am looking forward to is most definitely the actual competition. It’s the reason I do DECA and to be able to do that against the best competitors in the in the world is why I wake up in the morning.”
