It might not have the same impact as getting one from a college, but underclassmen received their National Honor Society acceptance letters via email on Monday at 5:00 p.m.
“It’s a good credential to have as it showcases that you’re dedicated and engaged student in the school, so I think it’ll be really beneficial when colleges, look at it on your application,” sophomore Tom Punnen said. “I felt pretty confident after I sent the application, as I had fulfilled other requirements but it was subjective to these teachers who chose that shows up kids but I was happy when they sent out the results.”
Requiring a 4.0 cumulative GPA and leadership, service, and character, senior Brooke Saltar says there are benefits to being in NHS.
“NHS is a really great way to enter into a school community and meet different people in the student body,” Saltar said via text. “A lot of the volunteer opportunities are a lot of fun and it always makes you feel good when your help out the community, not to mention it will be a nice addition to your college resume.”
