Seniors themselves have a different perspective on the chaotic process of applying to colleges. Recently Wingspan has also sat down with Senior Scott Donovan for a better insight for seniors who are still applying.
Wingspan: Do you find applying to colleges is difficult and stressful and if so, why?
Donavan: “It was a little bit because of the essays, but the actual applications themselves weren’t.”
Wingspan: When did you start applying to colleges and when do you suggest other seniors should start applying to colleges?
Donavan: “I think I started my applications the first week of August when they opened and finished them by the end of August and heard back from A&M within a couple of weeks so get them done as soon as they open so then you’ll be more likely to get in.”
Wingspan: How did you know how to get started with applying to colleges?
Donavan: “I went onto the college websites and they tell you what to do. Some of them are a bit more difficult to applying so that required help from my mom.”
Wingspan: Is there any advice you would give to other seniors about applying?
Donavan: “Just get it done and then you won’t have to worry about it later.”
