District 9-5A play continues for the Redhawks basketball program as both the boys’ and girls’ teams head to Reedy to take on the Lions Friday, with the girls taking the court first at 6:00 p.m.

Looking to improve to 4-0 in district games, the girls’ team is coming off a 47-15 win over Frisco on Tuesday.

“I feel like if we play good defense like we did last game it will tremendously help us to come out on top,” junior Kayla Pernis said.

Taking the court after the girls, the boys’ team hopes to even its district record to 1-1 after losing by one point to Frisco

“I think we need to improve our mental focus,” boys’ head coach Stephen Friar said. “It starts with focus in practice and then it translates to the game. So just being mentally focussed like listening to and hearing the scouting report and also just making sure we do things our way and sometimes well fall into the trap of playing like the other team and we need to play like ourselves.”
