Plans for high school #12 back on track
September 17, 2020
After delays due to COVID-19, Frisco ISD is moving ahead with construction for the district’s twelfth high school.
A few weeks into the school year and with a clearer picture of what is to come despite complications with COVID-19, the Board of Trustees approved dirt and utility work to start this week.
“We know more now and can look at real numbers,” FISD Deputy Superintendent of Business and Operations Dr. Todd Fouche said in an FISD news release. “Even considering no move-ins, we can count those students and show that we don’t have the capacity in Wakeland to help relieve Reedy and Lone Star.”
Attendance zones will be drawn in late 2021 and despite the delay, FISD’s twelfth high school is still scheduled to open in 2022.
