Hoping to wrap up the season with yet another win, the Redhawks tennis team is taking on the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. at Memorial High School in their final District 9-5A match of the season.
Beating Wakeland High School 10-9 on Friday, tennis head coach Erica Dopson thought the team played fairly well leaving a little room for improvement in this week’s match.
“They played great,” Dopson said via email. “They were a tough team. The 10-9 win was close and came down to the last match. We need to continue to close out matches. We play Tuesday so they need to be ready mentally.”
Going in with the mindset of winning, sophomore Morgan Mowery is confident in her team’s ability to bring home the final win for the Redhawks of the 2020 tennis season.
“To prepare we will make sure to drink lots of water and maintain a good mental state,” Mowery said via text. “I think that we will play well as we have made a lot of progress.”
