Skylar Grey is one of those singers that you never would have known about if it wasn’t for a feature with another artist. For me, it was through Eminem that I found out who she was. Since then, I have fallen in love with her voice, as I was really excited she dropped a new EP, Make It Through The Day

She has teased this project for a while since the first single “Dark Thoughts” came out on May 1. To give some context, Skylar did an Oct. challenge and released a song every Friday of Oct. All of the songs she released in that month were part of the EP. The last song came out in Nov.

My top songs off of the EP are “Dark Thoughts,” “Goosebumps,” and “Make It Through The Day.”  I really liked “Dark Thoughts” when it came out because it was very unique. The production was really good and it didn’t sound like anything she has released before. “Goosebumps” was a cover of Travis Scott’s original version of the song. She has shown her appreciation and love for him for a while and I am glad that she chose this song to do a cover to.

Last but not least is “Make It Through The Day”, which is such a beautiful song. It is especially powerful in 2020 when a lot of people don’t feel like they can make it through another day. This song is a reminder that we have to take everyday one step at a time.

On a side note, Skylar released a song during the October challenge called “The Devil Made Me Do It.” I am not sure why she didn’t put it on the EP, but this one was my favorite of all the songs.

I really enjoyed this EP. It has incredible production and great lyrics. Skylar was great and she deserves all the great things coming to her.
