It’s a busy weekend for Redhawk wrestling with back to back meets. First up is FISD Duals part 2 on Thursday.

The Redhawks return to the mat on Saturday as they take on the Coyote Classic at Heritage High School. This marks the last stage of competition for the team before heading into the FISD championship duals on Thursday.

“FISD is very competitive as opposed to other school districts,” junior Brayden Schueler said. “It seems that other districts don’t want it as bad as us.”

Other wrestlers, such as junior Mercede Alvarez, characterize the tournament as providing a final opportunity to improve technique and establish confidence before championship weekend.

“As a team we are focusing on getting better and making less mistakes as we go,” Alvarez said via text. “I want to be faster with my overall match and use smarter escapes.”
