Wingspan: Why did you decide to join track?

Aluga: “I like running, so I thought that it would be useful to keep me motivated to continue.”

Wingspan: What has been your favorite memory this season?

Aluga: “Probably after our second track meet when track teams of different schools got to talk.”

Wingspan: How has being on track impacted your life?

Aluga: “Well, I have to get up much earlier for 7 a.m. practices, but I feel like I have been working out much harder now as I am trying to get in shape to compete properly.”

What has been the biggest challenge this season?

Aluga: “The biggest challenge was probably the transition from basketball to track. Since track runners are a lot faster than basketball players, getting into the track body was pretty hard.”

Who is your biggest inspiration?

Aluga: “My biggest inspiration is probably my teammates. Just seeing how hard they work every practice just motivates me to work as hard as them.”

Wingspan: How do you prepare for a track meet?

Aluga: “Normally, I wake up really early and I take a hot shower to calm myself. When I get to the meet, I do warmups with the rest of my teammates and have fun before I have to be serious.”
