Cross country is heading to Lynn Creek Park on Thursday, running in the annual Ken Gaston Invitational as their last race before the District 10-5A meet on Oct. 13, with health still the major focal point for the Redhawks.

“The kids have been giving some great competition and running and I’m looking to see that continue for this last non-district meet, but with districts and regionals close by, being injury free is key,” coach Khera Vay said. “The kids have been consistently putting in hard work and effort and I want them to see it come to fruition in this last part of the season.”

Senior Takumi Harima is looking to get a lay of the land again as Lynn Creek will be where the regional meet is held on Oct. 24-25.

“This is where regionals were run last year and it’ll be the same this year. I’m focusing on getting used to the course again and setting up the best plan for regionals,” Harima said. “I’m looking for any last minute improvements and just figuring out what areas need the most work so I can head into district practice with a set goal.”
