Gildon hits milestone on Tuesday
Redhawk volleyball player and Clemson volleyball commit, McKenna Gildon, achieved a personal goal when she reached 1000 assists during Tuesday’s game.
“It feels really great and I feel very proud of myself and my team for allowing me to get 1000 assists,” Gildon said. “I was very excited and my team hype me up a lot and it made me a sign which was really sweet.”
Gildon hit this goal within only a few months of taking over a new position.
“It’s super impressive especially because it’s her first year ever setting,” head volleyball coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “She has done a really good job of running our entire offense and I’m really proud of her success.”
With the Redhawk volleyball team undefeated in District 10-5A, Gildon believes hitting this milestone could have an impact on the team.
“I think hitting 1000 assists will definitely give me some motivation to end out the season strong,” Gildon said. “Hopefully the motivation will help us get first in our district to help us get in playoffs.”
