On Tuesday, Redhawk volleyball coaches, Eighmy Dobbins, Taylor Ruesch, Callie Pearson, and Heather Whitcomb were awarded the 2022 District 10-5A Coaching Staff Of The Year. This award was earned through a season of dedication and commitment from the players and the coaches.

The Redhawks volleyball coaches, Eighmy Dobbins, Taylor Ruesch, Callie Pearson, and Heather Whitcomb were awarded the 2022 District 10-5A Coaching Staff Of The Year Award on Tuesday.

“Our whole coaching staff felt really grateful and honored for the acknowledgement,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “We all worked really hard this season; but we wouldn’t have been able to do it without our amazing athletes. All of the coaches had a role in preparing our teams for games, whether it be running drills, cutting up film, or creating game plans. We aimed to make it a really purposeful environment and it took all of us working together in order to do that.”

Assistant varsity coach Taylor Ruesch believes the players had a big role in earning this award.

“Earning this award, to me, just means that our players did a great job of executing and following the plan, so I’m very proud and thankful for them,” Ruesch said. “I was honored when I found out that we were selected as coaching staff of the year. It was something that I hadn’t even considered so it was definitely the cherry on top of a great season.”

Similarly, junior varsity coach Callie Pearson is grateful the coaches’ dedication this season was recognized.

“I was honored to be a recipient of the award,” Pearson said. “We all put a lot of hours and hard work into this season and it was nice to have that recognized by others.”

The tight bond between the players and the coaches had a large impact on their season, according to freshman coach Heather Whitcomb.

“I’m incredibly proud of our staff, we all work well together and put the girls and the program first. It was an honor to be a part of this staff,” Whitcomb said. “Getting this award is a huge compliment but our athletes performed extremely well and made us look good. They bought into the program, which is what made us so successful. They have an unbreakable bond, and it was fun to watch them grow and develop over the season through the diverse practices.”
