In the spirit of the holiday season, PTA members are hosting a holiday cookie drop off. The cookie donations will go towards a Holiday Luncheon on Dec. 21 for teachers and staff members to enjoy.

Students are asked to donate homemade or store bought cookies Dec. 19-21 at the front of the school during the morning.

“One of the main goals of the PTA is to make our teachers and staff feel appreciated and valued,” PTA member Maria Blois said. “We try to organize several events each year that support them.”

Teachers such as Simone Symmank believe this gesture makes teachers feel seen for all their hard work.

“I think it’s a nice gesture,” Symmank said. “It shows the teachers that the students appreciate all the hard work that they’ve been putting in this semester. It does make you feel celebrated and that your work is noticed.”

Students can receive one service hour per dozen of cookies. Regardless, students are encouraged to bring cookies as it shows students’ appreciation for their teachers.

“I really want to make my teacher feel appreciated,” junior Siva Epuri said. “I hope cookie donations show how much love and support I have for my teachers and thank them for teaching me.”
