With the 2016-2017 school year on the horizon, faculty changes come to light as teachers move schools or careers. Assistant principal Kristen Sommers will be saying her goodbyes to the campus as she moves to open Lebanon Trail High School next fall, and AP Literature teacher Stacey Whaling will be stepping up to take her place.

“I am always looking for ways to continue to grow professionally,” Sommers said. “Going to Lebanon Trail will offer the opportunity to open a new campus and help build the culture of that campus from the very beginning.”

English teacher Stacey Whaling was named the new assistant principal.

Lebanon Trail will only be open to freshmen during their inaugural year, allowing Sommers to witness the development of the student body.  Sommers has been both a teacher and a member of the administration on campus, devoting the last eight years of her life to the school.

“As a teacher at Liberty, I always enjoyed the ability to collaborate with teachers and learn from others,” Sommers said. “The students have been great and working with students has always been the best part of the jobas a teacher and an assistant principal.”

As Sommers prepares to move across the city to Lebanon, Whaling looks forward to moving across campus to a new location and her new position on staff.

“I am very excited for my new role and to serve the school in a new capacity,” Whaling said. “I hope to be able to serve the teachers and the students in a different way, but in an equally important way.”
