Soccer looks to keep the ball rolling following three losses and a single win. With playoffs out of the picture for the boys, the girls push on.

Boys’ and girls’ soccer were busy over break, both finishing off their regular season having played Lebanon Trail on Friday, and Centennial on Tuesday.

The boys took a tough loss to both schools, losing 2-0 to Lebanon Trail and 3-1 to Centenial.

“I don’t think the season went as well as we had hoped,” Junior Akshat Singh said. “But we didn’t let that bring our hopes down for next year. We will be able to achieve playoffs hopefully next year if we work hard this off-season.

The girls saw mixed results losing 1-0 to Lebanon Trail, but beating Centennial 4-0.

“It was a good way to rap up our regular season,” sophmore Lily Gibbons said. “Obviously we wish we could have beat Lebanon Trail, but we have more important games coming up.”

Before break, District 10-5A girls’ soccer standings were finalized with the Redhawks knowing they would make district playoffs.

“Preseason before playoffs was the message,” head girls soccer coach Kyle Beggs said. “You get another little preseason before the playoff season begins. So, we built momentum and learned from our games and that helped us prepare for that playoff game. Those games mattered for the win-loss record, but they didn’t matter in the standings. We used these games to prepare for that playoff game.”
