The weekend started with a W, but was followed by two L’s as the Redhawks took out Panther Creek on Friday, before falling to Lovejoy, and Wakeland on Saturday.
“It’s still early in the season, and we are happy to be playing good competition early on to prepare for district,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “We learned how to better execute a game plan and work around a big block.”
With the team winding down its non-district schedule, players don’t seem too concerned with the weekend losses.
“I’m happy with how hard we played even though we didn’t win,” junior Andrea Juneau said. “I think, as a team, we could have done better at focusing on the scouting report and working on different ways to place the ball.”
Enduring three games in less than 24 hours, Juneau is proud of the team’s effort with such conditions.
“Playing eight sets in a row was very physically and mentally draining,” she said. “However, I think we all worked as hard as we could given the circumstances.”
