The tennis team suffered a season-worst 14-5 loss to the Independence Knights on Tuesday.
For assistant tennis coach Neil Grobler, the match had some bright spots.
“We started off well in doubles against a very tough top 10 team,” Grobler said. “Special shout out to [junior] Hailey Zhang, who had a dominant doubles performance and backed it up with a tough singles win. Unfortunately, we came up a bit flat, [but] the match highlighted some areas where we need to improve, and we’ll focus our practices around those key components.”
Meanwhile, sophomore Noyonika Banerjee believes that the team’s attitude helped them stay focused, even as they fell behind in the score.
“As a team, we’re very determined to win and don’t give up easily,” Banerjee said.
