Hoping to continue their District 10-5A win streak, the Redhawks volleyball team takes on the Memorial Warriors at The Nest Friday at 5:30 p.m.
“I hope that we play really well and just send a message to Memorial,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “They are a really strong team. They have two really successful hitters that we need to be really conscious about defending.”
Even though coach Dobbins sees Memorial’s hitters as a threat, sophomore Jadien Harris sees them as a weakness for the Warriors.
“Liberty has more options on the team, where Memorial only has a few,” Harris said. “This means that we know where the ball will go. Whereas we will keep them on their toes wondering where we will go next.”
Memorial was the only team last year that the Redhawks fell to in district play, with Harris believing the Warriors to be the Redhawks most significant competition this year.
“I am not nervous about losing because we all know they are most likely going to be our biggest competitor,” she said. “If we apply what we have been practicing all week into the game and do our jobs, we should come out with a win.”
