Redhawks tennis is now only one tournament away from their district tournament after competing in the Rockhill Varsity Tournament on Friday. “It was a great tournament for our varsity team,” assistant coach Neil Grobler said.

Sitting in the middle of the District 10-5A table, the tennis team (3-1) hopes to move up by notching a win against the Walnut Grove Wildcats Tuesday at 4 p.m.

“Walnut Grove is going to be a tough opponent simply because they’re a new school, and we’ve never played them before,” head tennis coach William Davis said. “Although that kind of works both ways for us since we don’t know what they’re like and they don’t know what we’re like, we will need to ensure that we’re playing to our strengths.”

Junior Hailey Zhang believes that a positive mentality will help the team be successful.

“Our team spirit is definitely a strength of ours,” Zhang said. We do a lot of team-bonding activities and are around each other a lot, and I think that will improve our chances of winning overall.”
