With Halloween right around the corner, orchestra is hosting a Falloween social Thursday from 5-7 p.m. in the orchestra room and gym.
“Everyone in orchestra is invited,” Orchestra Assistant Director Madison Waggerman said. “We’ll have activities like costume contests, a pumpkin pie eating contest, basketball tournament, and some crafts. Everyone in orchestra is very excited about it. Students always have a really great time at socials, so it’s a really fun way to let loose.”
Students are encouraged to dress up with games and food on hand, something that junior Cindy Trinh is looking forward to.
“I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s costumes,” Trinh said. “I’m also looking forward to the games we have planned because every year we always have such good games planned.”
This social will be an opportunity for orchestra students to see friends and meet new people.
“They get to meet people in all different orchestras and again, that social outlet is very important,” Waggerman said.
Waggerman is most looking forward to seeing her students in a less academic environment.
“Watching personalities of the [kids at the socials emerge] that we don’t normally see in class,” Waggerman said. “Some of them are reserved and quiet in class, but at the socials, they are bouncing off the walls and it’s fun to see the different sides of them.”
